A 1978 Ford F-150 4x4 that was built for one road, fought the whole way down it, and finished at the Pacific.

It was transformed from a mostly original truck into the Route 66 adventure truck. It had the lift, tires, lights, bumper, winch, stereo, AC, and all the classic adventure look.
But it was also not perfect, and that is part of why the story worked. Brownie had fuel delivery issues, heat issues, and several moments where I thought we might not finish. By the end, Brownie became more than the truck. It became the main character.
